What’s going on at CrossFit City Road
Welcome to the June instalment of ‘What’s Going on at CrossFit City Road’. April and May were busy month’s and the summer looks to be even more action packed. But before we get on with what’s going on we need to offer up a big congratulations. Congratulations to all of our members as we’ve now surpassed 50 members and our community is growing in not only size but strength. Tom and myself feel we’re developing something special and you’re all playing your part- so thank you!
May was an extremely busy month, we had competitions, weightlifting matches and box battles.
London Box Battles
On Sunday the 10th May a hardy few of us ventured down to CrossFit BlackFriars to compete in the first round of the London Box Battles. The London Box Battles is an inclusive competition which caters for all levels of CrossFitters. We had a great time competing and hanging out with members of the greater CrossFit community. Thanks for all those who attended and came and supported. Our next match is at home on the 19th or 20th July and we are hoping that many more of you will be looking to get involved!
We’ve entered the London and South Eastern Lifting League which is an inclusive Weightlifting Competition which pits one team against another each match. We had two matches in May coming away with one win and a loss. Both our matches were against Weightlifting Clubs so as a CrossFit box we’re doing quite well. We have another five matches this season and we’re hoping to fare well!
The British Championships
Coach Tom has qualified for the British Championships which is a CrossFit competition where the very best Britain has to offer will be going head to head. The qualification process consisted of three gruelling workouts that need to be judged, video’d and submitted. The British Championships will take place over the 4th and 5th July. To support Tom for the weekend you’ll need to purchase tickets at http://thebritishchampionships.com
The Whole Life Challenge
Many of us started the Whole Life Challenge at the start of May. The Whole Life Challenge is an online 8week challenge that helps you measure and focus on all areas of your life including nutrition, exercise, mobility, hydration, supplementation and lifestyle. For us as a community it’s been brilliant, its an online platform that allows individuals to log their daily habits and lets team members interact and support each other in trying to improve themselves in a number of areas. If you haven’t joined us yet please look at for the next WLC www.wholelifechallenge.com
Well done on surviving the latest block of programming and testing week last week. The next block starts this week and has a different focus. We need you all to move better! Enjoy.
Get stuck in people it’s gonna be a great summer!!
