March has been another crazy month and April looks set to be our best yet. The CrossFit Open season came to an end in the epic finale of 15.5 and we hosted another successful City Road Lift Off, this time in competition format. Looking forward to April, we have a number of exciting new developments to share with you. On April 11th, we are hosting our first City Road Guest Day, open and free to anyone who wants to try CrossFit. We will be offering our first Beginners’ Class. We are also launching The City Road Academy, a comprehensive introductory course designed to help you master the fundamentals of CrossFit training.
City Road Guest Day
April is going to be a great month for anyone just beginning, or thinking about beginning, their CrossFit journey. To celebrate having been open 6 months, we will be hosting our very first Guest Day on April 11th. The event is free and open to all ability levels and will give you a chance to try CrossFit in a beginner-friendly format. So, if you’re curious about CrossFit, or you’ve been wanting to try it but have felt intimidated, this is your chance! The classes will start at 10:15am and you can book here (booking is essential, and we expect places to fill fast!).
With our recent influx of new members and requests from prospective members, we’ve decided to launch The City Road Academy. This is a course of 6 90-minute sessions designed to get you up to speed in the fundamental movements and methodologies of CrossFit, as we approach them. The course is free for members and just £89 for non-members. It will run on Saturday afternoons between 13:30 and 15:00 from May 2nd. If there is sufficient demand for another day/time we will consider putting on a second course. You can book your spot at The City Road Academy here.
That’s not all. From next week, we will be offering a beginner-focused class on Monday mornings at 7:45am. These classes will spend more time on technique demonstrations, instruction and drills than others and the movement selection will favour the more fundamental and less technical (though not exclusively). The class will still offer a challenging and effective mixture of strength training and metabolic conditioning and non-beginners will still be able to see good results from attending.
